Half the summer break has passed by without more than a thought of posting an update, and I think that is JUST FINE.  So far, summer has been lazy and relaxing, but somehow still productive.  The first order of business for the holidays was to get my big ole house painted - top to bottom.  I decided to lighten the yellow on the siding, soften the white trim, paint the porch floors a lovely shade of grey, and change the accent colour on the door to a custom mixed mellow mint.  I love the way the combination of hues came out in the end.  The changes may be subtle, but it feels totally fresh, and was just enough of a change to make me appreciate the charm of this home all over again...

I'm livin' in my sweet spot.

Copious puddles and downpours didn't stop one little miss from celebrating her first year in style.  I had the pleasure of making a teenie tiny princess dress and crown for this royal 1st birthday bash.
Below are some pics from other contributors - flowers by my girl Megan of Megan Lynne Floral Design, and decor by Ashley Funk of Ashley Funk Decor (paper flowers above also by Ashley).  All in all, this was a party fit for a wee princess, her friends, and all her friends' parents too!
Happy 1st Dannilyn!

-- And a happy happy Canada Day to the rest of y'all! --
